A vulnerability was found in ScriptsEz Mini Hosting Panel (affected version unknown) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file members.php. The manipulation of the argument dir with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in members.php in ScriptsEz Mini Hosting Panel allows remote attackers to read arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the dir parameter in a view action.

The weakness was published 02/06/2009 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-6090 since 02/06/2009.
