A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Active Web Softwares Active Web Helpdesk 2.0. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file default.aspx of the component Help. The manipulation of the argument CategoryID with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in default.aspx in Active Web Helpdesk 2.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the CategoryID parameter.
The weakness was shared 03/02/2009 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-6380 since 03/02/2009.
