libclamav/untar.c in ClamAV before 0.95 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a crafted TAR file that causes (1) clamd and (2) clamscan to hang.

The weakness was shared 04/07/2009 as Bug 1462 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at wwws.clamav.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-1270 since 04/08/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
