Multiple stack-based buffer overflows in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2000 SP3 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a large amount of data associated with unspecified atoms in a PowerPoint file that triggers memory corruption, aka "Data Out of Bounds Vulnerability."
The issue has been introduced in 06/07/1999. The weakness was released 05/12/2009 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2009-1131 since 03/25/2009. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
