FreePBX 2.5.1, and other 2.4.x, 2.5.x, and pre-release 2.6.x versions, generates different error messages for a failed login attempt depending on whether the user account exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate valid usernames.
The weakness was disclosed 05/06/2009 by Dejan Levaja (Mike) (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-1803 since 05/28/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
