A vulnerability was found in Jnmsolutions DB Top Sites 1.0. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file full.php. The manipulation of the argument u with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in DB Top Sites 1.0, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allow remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the u parameter to (1) full.php, (2) index.php, and (3) contact.php.
The weakness was disclosed 06/15/2009 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2009-2110 since 06/18/2009. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
