A vulnerability has been found in Nagios up to 3.1.0 (Log Management Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file statuswml.cgi of the component traceroute. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. statuswml.cgi in Nagios before 3.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the (1) ping or (2) Traceroute parameters.
The weakness was published 07/01/2009 by Paul (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2009-2288 since 07/01/2009.
