A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Zen Cart up to 1.3.7 (Warehouse Management System Software). This vulnerability affects the function actionMultipleAddProduct of the file includes/classes/shopping_cart.php. The manipulation of the argument array with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQL injection vulnerability in the actionMultipleAddProduct function in includes/classes/shopping_cart.php in Zen Cart 1.3.0 through 1.3.8a, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the products_id array parameter in a multiple_products_add_product action, a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-6985.
The weakness was disclosed 09/04/2008 by James Bercegay with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is shared for download at zen-cart.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-6986 since 08/17/2009. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
By approaching the search of inurl:includes/classes/shopping_cart.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 34108 (Zen Cart products_id[] Array SQL Injection), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
