A vulnerability was found in Visualshapers ezContents 2.0.3. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects the function str_replace of the file module.php. The manipulation of the argument link with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
module.php in ezContents 2.0.3 allows remote attackers to bypass the directory traversal protection mechanism to include and execute arbitrary local files via "....//" (doubled dot dot slash) sequences in the link parameter, which is not properly filtered using the str_replace function.
