The t3lib_div::RemoveXSS API method in TYPO3 4.4.0 through 4.4.13, 4.5.0 through 4.5.13, 4.6.0 through 4.6.6, 4.7, and 6.0 allows remote attackers to bypass the cross-site scripting (XSS) protection mechanism and inject arbitrary web script or HTML via non printable characters.
The weakness was presented 03/28/2012 by Chris John Riley (Oliver) (Website). The advisory is shared at typo3.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-1608 since 03/12/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
