A vulnerability was found in Barracuda CudaTel Communication Server 2.0.029.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Automated Attendant Services. The manipulation as part of a Eingabe leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is confidentiality, and integrity.
The weakness was presented 03/08/2012 by Benjamin Kunz Mejri (Rem0ve) with Vulnerability Research Laboratory as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is available at seclists.org. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
