A vulnerability was found in Novell GroupWise 2.1.0 on Windows/Linux/NetWare (Groupware Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function createsearch of the file nmma.exe of the component Messenger. The manipulation with the input value 0x00000000 leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The bug was discovered 05/10/2011. The weakness was released 02/16/2012 by Luigi Auriemma as confirmed exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared at aluigi.org.
