Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Jetdirect and the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on certain HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet printers, and HP Digital Senders, allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) Product_URL or (2) Tech_URL parameter in an Apply action to the support_param.html/config script.
The weakness was disclosed 10/13/2009 by DiGiT with Digital Security Research Group (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2009-2684 since 08/05/2009. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
