A vulnerability was found in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 9.0.0.463 (Anti-Malware Software). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. kl1.sys in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 9.0.0.463, and possibly other versions before 9.0.0.736, does not properly validate input to IOCTL 0x0022c008, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) via IOCTL requests using crafted kernel addresses that trigger memory corruption, possibly related to klavemu.kdl.
The bug was discovered 09/29/2009. The weakness was released 11/16/2009 by Heurs (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-4114 since 11/30/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. Upgrading to version 9.0.0.463 eliminates this vulnerability.
