A vulnerability was found in gnome screensaver up to 2.28.1. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Screen Lock. gnome-screensaver before 2.28.2 allows physically proximate attackers to bypass screen locking and access an unattended workstation by moving the mouse position to an external monitor and then disconnecting that monitor.

The weakness was published 02/05/2010 as Bug 562217 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-0414 since 01/27/2010. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
