A vulnerability has been found in SkaDate Online Dating Software 6.482 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument layout with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in index.php in SkaDate Dating allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the layout parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 07/27/2009 (Website). The advisory is shared at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2009-4700 since 03/15/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy.
