A vulnerability was found in Chris Simon Com Abbrev 1.1 and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument controller with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the Abbreviations Manager (com_abbrev) component 1.1 for Joomla! allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the controller parameter to index.php. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
