Details
A vulnerability was found in JE Form Creator (version now known). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument view with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in the JE Form Creator (com_jeformcr) component for Joomla!, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the view parameter to index.php. NOTE: the original researcher states that the affected product is JE Tooltip, not Form Creator; however, the exploit URL suggests that Form Creator is affected.
