Mozilla Firefox before 3.0.19 and 3.5.x before 3.5.8, and SeaMonkey before 2.0.3, when the XMLHttpRequestSpy module in the Firebug add-on is used, does not properly handle interaction between the XMLHttpRequestSpy object and chrome privileged objects, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript via a crafted HTTP response.
The weakness was shared 04/05/2010 by moz_bug_r_a4 as Bug 504021 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-0179. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
