This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/xml/media-rss.php. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in xml/media-rss.php in the NextGEN Gallery plugin before 1.5.2 for WordPress allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the mode parameter.
The weakness was shared 04/06/2010 by Core Security with CORE Security Technologies (Website). The advisory is shared for download at wordpress.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-1186 since 03/30/2010. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
