A vulnerability was found in Awdsolution Com Awdwall 1.5.4 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument controller with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the AWDwall (com_awdwall) component 1.5.4 for Joomla! allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the controller parameter to index.php.

The weakness was presented 04/08/2010 by AntiSecurity with isec (Website). The advisory is available at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1494 since 04/23/2010.
