A vulnerability was found in TaskFreak TaskFreak! up to 0.1.3. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function loadByKey of the file tzn_mysql.php. The manipulation of the argument Username with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
SQL injection vulnerability in the loadByKey function in the TznDbConnection class in tzn_mysql.php in Tirzen (aka TZN) Framework 1.5, as used in TaskFreak! before 0.6.3, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the username field in a login action.
The weakness was presented 04/29/2010 by Justin C. Klein Keane (Website). The advisory is shared at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-1583. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:tzn_mysql.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12362 (TaskFreak SQL Injection Vulnerability).
Upgrading to version 0.1.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
