A vulnerability was found in Thefactory Com Gadgetfactory 1.5.0. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the file index.php. Directory traversal vulnerability in the Gadget Factory (com_gadgetfactory) component 1.0.0 and 1.5.0 for Joomla! allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the controller parameter to index.php. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.

The weakness was disclosed 04/18/2010 with isec (Website). The advisory is available at thefactory.ro. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-1956 since 05/18/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
