Details
A vulnerability was found in Cacti (Log Management Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file graph.php. The manipulation of the argument $_GET with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQL injection vulnerability in graph.php in Cacti 0.8.7e and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via a crafted rra_id parameter in a GET request in conjunction with a valid rra_id value in a POST request or a cookie, which causes the POST or cookie value to bypass the validation routine, but inserts the $_GET value into the resulting query.
The weakness was released 05/27/2010 by Stefan Esser (Website). The advisory is available at rhn.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-2092. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
