Multiple format string vulnerabilities in Network Authorization in Apple Mac OS X 10.6 before 10.6.4 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via format string specifiers in a (1) afp, (2) cifs, or (3) smb URL.
The weakness was published 06/17/2010 by Kevin Finisterre (pagvac) with MIT Kerberos Team (Website). The advisory is available at lists.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1376 since 04/15/2010. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
