A vulnerability was found in Adobe Illustrator up to 15.0 (Image Processing Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality in the library JPEGFormat.aip of the component User Input Sanitizer. The manipulation as part of a File leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. Adobe Illustrator before CS6 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via unspecified vectors, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-0780, CVE-2012-2023, CVE-2012-2024, and CVE-2012-2025.

The weakness was presented 05/08/2012 by Tielei Wang with Secunia as APSB12-10 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-2026 since 04/02/2012. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
