A vulnerability was found in eZ eZ Publish up to 4.2.0 and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Search Feature. The manipulation of the argument SearchContentClassAttributeID with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in eZ Publish 3.7.0 through 4.2.0 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) SectionID and (2) SearchTimestamp parameters to the search feature and the (3) SearchContentClassAttributeID parameter to the advancedsearch feature.
The weakness was shared 03/25/2010 by Sebastian Apelt (Website). The advisory is shared at ez.no. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-2672 since 07/08/2010. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
