A vulnerability was found in Trend Micro Internet Security 2010. It has been declared as very critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function extSetOwner in the library UfPBCtrl.dll of the component ActiveX Control. The extSetOwner function in the UfProxyBrowserCtrl ActiveX control (UfPBCtrl.dll) in Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2010 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an invalid address that is dereferenced as a pointer.
The weakness was presented 08/31/2010 by Andrea Micalizzi (rgod) (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at esupport.trendmicro.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-3189 since 08/31/2010. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
