Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in libraries/Error.class.php in phpMyAdmin 3.x before 3.3.6 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via vectors related to a PHP backtrace and error messages (aka debugging messages), a different vulnerability than CVE-2010-3056.
The weakness was disclosed 09/08/2010 by Aung Khant with YGN Ethical Hacker Group (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-2958. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12415 (phpMyAdmin Unspecified Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability (PMASA-2010-7)).
Upgrading to version 3.0.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
