Stack-based buffer overflow in the HTTP proxy service in Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista 4760 server before R5.1.06.03.c_Patch3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (service crash) via a long request.
The weakness was disclosed 09/23/2010 with Bluebox Security (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-3281 since 09/13/2010. The attack needs to be done within the local network. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
