A vulnerability has been found in Blentz smbind up to 0.4.7 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function filter of the component Login Page. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The filter function in php/src/include.php in Simple Management for BIND (aka smbind) before 0.4.8 does not anchor a certain regular expression, which allows remote attackers to conduct SQL injection attacks and execute arbitrary SQL commands via the username parameter to the admin login page.
The weakness was presented 10/14/2010 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3076 since 08/20/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy.
