Heap-based buffer overflow in Image RAW in Apple Mac OS X 10.5.8 and 10.6.x before 10.6.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted RAW image.
The weakness was disclosed 11/16/2010 with Apple as HT4435 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-1846. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
