A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Red Hat IcedTea up to 1.9.1. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component Installation. IcedTea 1.7.x before 1.7.6, 1.8.x before 1.8.3, and 1.9.x before 1.9.2, as based on OpenJDK 6, declares multiple sensitive variables as public, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information including (1) user.name, (2) user.home, and (3) java.home system properties, and other sensitive information such as installation directories.
The weakness was released 12/08/2010 as Bug 645843 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-3860. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.

Upgrading to version 1.6 eliminates this vulnerability.
