A vulnerability has been found in Microsoft Office Xp (Office Suite Software) and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing. The TIFF image converter in the graphics filters in Microsoft Office XP SP3, Office Converter Pack, and Works 9 does not properly convert data, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted TIFF image in an Office document, aka "TIFF Image Converter Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The weakness was presented 12/16/2010 by Carsten Eiram with Secunia Research (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3950 since 10/14/2010. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
