A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Hycus CMS 1.0.3 (Content Management System). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument site with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in index.php in Hycus CMS 1.0.3, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) user_name and (2) usr_email parameters to user/1/hregister.html, (3) usr_email parameter to user/1/hlogin.html, (4) useremail parameter to user/1/forgotpass.html, and the (5) q parameter to search/1.html. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
The weakness was presented 12/21/2010 by High-Tech Bridge SA with High-Tech Bridge SA (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-4612 since 12/29/2010. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by High-Tech Bridge SA and been published immediately after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:index.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
