A vulnerability has been found in Troglobit pimd 2.1.5 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the file pimd.cache of the component Cache. The product attempts to access a file based on the filename, but it does not properly prevent that filename from identifying a link or shortcut that resolves to an unintended resource. pimd 2.1.5 and possibly earlier versions allows user-assisted local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on (1) pimd.dump when a USR1 signal is sent, or (2) pimd.cache when USR2 is sent.
