A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Google Chrome up to 8.0.552.208 (Web Browser). Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality. Google Chrome before 8.0.552.237 and Chrome OS before 8.0.552.344 do not properly perform a cast of an unspecified variable during handling of anchors, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted HTML document.
The weakness was disclosed 01/12/2011 by Sergey Glazunov (SkyLined) with Chromium Development Community (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-0482. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
