A vulnerability has been found in Oracle Fusion Middleware 10.1.3.4 (Middleware) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality in the library emsmtp.dll of the component ActiveX Control. The manipulation of the argument first with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. Unspecified vulnerability in the Oracle Document Capture component in Oracle Fusion Middleware 10.1.3.4 and 10.1.3.5 allows remote attackers to affect confidentiality via unknown vectors related to Import Server. NOTE: the previous information was obtained from the January 2011 CPU. Oracle has not commented on claims from the original researcher that remote attackers can read arbitrary files via a full pathname in the first argument to the ImportBodyText method in the EasyMail ActiveX control (emsmtp.dll).

The weakness was presented 01/19/2011 by Alexey Sintsov with Oracle (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3595. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
