Google Chrome before 9.0.597.84 does not properly handle a missing key in an extension, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted extension.
The weakness was released 02/04/2011 by Michal Zalewski (SkyLined) with Chromium Development Community (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-0779. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
