A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Zikula Application Framework up to 1.2.1. This vulnerability affects an unknown code. Zikula before 1.2.3 does not use the authid protection mechanism for (1) the lostpassword form and (2) mailpasswd processing, which makes it easier for remote attackers to generate a flood of password requests and possibly conduct cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks via multiple form submissions.
The weakness was presented 02/08/2011 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.zikula.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-4729 since 02/08/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
