A vulnerability was found in Novell ZENworks Configuration Management up to 10.3.0 (Policy Management Software). It has been declared as critical. Directory traversal vulnerability in an unspecified servlet in the Inventory component in ZENworks Asset Management (ZAM) in Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3 before 10.3.2, and 11, allows remote attackers to overwrite files, and subsequently execute arbitrary code, via directory traversal sequences in a filename field in an upload request.
The weakness was shared 04/18/2011 by AbdulAziz Hariri (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at zerodayinitiative.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-4229 since 11/10/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
