Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in profileinfo.php in MediaWiki before 1.15.5, when wgEnableProfileInfo is enabled, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the filter parameter.
The weakness was released 04/26/2011 as Bug 620226 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-2788. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
