Details
A vulnerability has been found in rdesktop up to 1.6.0 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function disk_create of the file disk.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in the disk_create function in disk.c in rdesktop before 1.7.0, when disk redirection is enabled, allows remote RDP servers to read or overwrite arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a pathname.
