A vulnerability was found in Novell iPrint (Printing Software). It has been rated as very critical. This issue affects an unknown function in the library nipplib.dll. Heap-based buffer overflow in nipplib.dll in Novell iPrint Client before 5.64 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted file-date-time parameter in a printer-url.

The weakness was disclosed 06/09/2011 with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is shared at zerodayinitiative.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-1702 since 04/15/2011. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
