A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Oracle Application Server up to 9.0.3.1 (Application Server Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Single Sign-On. The manipulation of the argument p_submit_url with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. The p_submit_url value in the sample login form in the Oracle 9i Application Server (9iAS) Single Sign-on Administrators Guide, Release 2(9.0.2) for Oracle SSO allows remote attackers to spoof the login page, which could allow users to inadvertently reveal their username and password.
The weakness was presented 03/30/2004 by Madison Gurkha (Website). The advisory is available at madison-gurkha.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1877 since 05/04/2005.
