A vulnerability was found in Joomla CMS 1.6.0/1.6.1 (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. Joomla! 1.6.x before 1.6.2 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via an empty Itemid array parameter to index.php, which reveals the installation path in an error message, a different vulnerability than CVE-2011-2488.
The weakness was disclosed 07/27/2011 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-2891 since 07/27/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
