A vulnerability was found in FreeRADIUS 2.1.11 (Network Authentication Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects the function ocsp_check of the file rlm_eap_tls.c. The ocsp_check function in rlm_eap_tls.c in FreeRADIUS 2.1.11, when OCSP is enabled, does not properly parse replies from OCSP responders, which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by using the EAP-TLS protocol with a revoked X.509 client certificate.
The weakness was released 08/03/2011 with CERT as Bug 724815 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-2701 since 07/11/2011. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
