Integer overflow in Apple QuickTime before 7.7 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via crafted track run atoms in a QuickTime movie file.
The weakness was disclosed 08/15/2011 with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative as HT4826 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-0256 since 12/23/2010. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
