The implementation of Content Security Policy (CSP) violation reports in Mozilla Firefox 4.x through 5, SeaMonkey 2.x before 2.3, and possibly other products does not remove proxy-authorization credentials from the listed request headers, which allows attackers to obtain sensitive information by reading a report, related to incorrect host resolution that occurs with certain redirects.

The weakness was disclosed 08/18/2011 by Rafael Gieschke (TippingPoint) with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative as Bug 679588 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-2990. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/18/2021). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1552 for this issue.
