A vulnerability was found in Sven Verdoolaege FCGI up to 0.73 and classified as critical. This issue affects the function CGI::Fast. The FCGI (aka Fast CGI) module 0.70 through 0.73 for Perl, as used by CGI::Fast, uses environment variable values from one request during processing of a later request, which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication via crafted HTTP headers.
The weakness was published 09/23/2011 by Russ Allbery (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at rt.cpan.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-2766. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
